Resisting Temptation

I've been having this issue with eating too many Skinny Cow treats. So, every time I want to eat one, I ask myself, "Would I eat an omelet instead?" If I am willing to make an egg white omelet, I know I am actually hungry. If I just want the treat, I eat if I haven't eaten one yet--or I say no if I have.

My 15 Minute Rule

Most people I've spoken to use the 15 minute rule that states if they are craving something, they would wait 15 minutes and then if the item is still wanted, it would be eaten then. I would always end up eating it anyway.
My 15 minute rule is this: if I'm not going to remember I ate something 15 minutes from now, I don't eat it. This gets me past the M&Ms on a desk, but allows for the decadent Saturday night treat if I really want it. I always remember those...Delish! emoticon

Warming/Cooking Food in a Microwave

I replaced my Microwave recently with a new one which also doubles as a Convection Oven for Baking and Roasting Foods.The person who came over to demonstrate the usage of this gave me a good tip.It seems that we consume less Electricity while Microwaving if we keep the Dish on the edge of the Turn Table as it catches the maximum Rays there and heats up faster.The Centre of the Turn Table is the coolest spot in a Microwave!!!I've followed these Instructions since and found that it really works!!

Kitchen Timer

Whenever I am craving sweet or wanting to eat something I shouldn't... I go in my kitchen and set the timer for 10 min. By the time it dings and time is up.. I am usually so busy with something else that I totally forgot what I was craving. This has saved me many splurges!

Baby Steps Work!!!!

Baby Steps work.....small steps, one at a time!!!! Pick one small goal & work on that till you achieve it & make it a habit!!!! THEN......baby step 2.....pick another small goal & work on that one until you achieve it & make it a habit!! Pretty soon you will be well on your journey to a healthier lifestyle!!!! Another reuse to reduce solution

After emptying one of the Wishbone salad Spritzer bottles, I washed it out and filled it with canola oil. Not only does that reuse something that would have been thrown away, but it also helps to reduce the amount of oil used when cooking.
