If you are roadtripping in the US, fast food is sometimes all you can find. Before I roadtripped in April, I looked online for the nutritional information on all the major chains. I copied and pasted everything under 500 cal into a Word doc, and printed it out. I alphabetized the chains for ease and speed. Result = no need to panic at the counter when ordering. I didn't lose weight the 2 weeks I was gone. But I also did not gain a single pound.
Check out the different types of hummus. I was a hummus hater and recently tried edamame hummus. It's really made sandwiches so much better. It also goes really well with avocado and alfalfa sprouts. Half a serving is 45cal and contains some protein. Have been using it to mix things up when I get bored of cream cheese.
