How does your garden grow?
Before splurging on that plant you 'simply must have', take a walk through your neighbourhood and see what grows successfully in other gardens. That will give you an idea of the plants that will thrive in your garden.
'Oily' Fish will NOT make you Fat!
Fish offers an excellent source of protein that, on average, is lower in calories than the same size serving of meat. 90 g / 3 oz of flounder = 80 calories, with 1 g fat; the same amount of lean grilled hamburger meat yields 230 calories with 16 g of fat.

Omega-3 fatty acids, found in oily fish such as trout, salmon and mackerel lessens inflammation and painful rheumatoid arthritis symptoms. It's good for your heart, too!

When to Season
a) sauteed onions
Season before browning - the seasoning draws out the water which helps to soften the onions. They will take a few more minutes to brown but the flavour is excellent and the onions will be meltingly tender.
