Natural Treatment for Colds and Sore Throats About half a teaspoon of ground TURMERIC added to a cup of hot MILK, simmered for about 3 minutes with a teaspoon of HONEY, is an ancient treatment for colds and sore throats. Sip slowly while its still hot.

Plant Pelargoniums (scented geranium) near your patio this summer. When the mosquitoes start buzzing and making an evening in the garden a misery, pick leaves from the plants and rub the leaves over your arms and legs. This remedy has been used by African tribes for many years.

An old German remedy for excess stomach acid - pop a small, raw, peeled potato into your juice extractor and drink a few spoonfuls of the juice before meals. The alkalinity in the juice will help settle an acid stomach.

Oranges provide 53.2 mg of Vit C for every 100 g raw portion consumed. Consider the kiwi - 98.0 mg; broccoli - 93.2 mg; papaya - 61.8 mg. There are so many foods rich in Vit C, there's no reason not to get yours. The humble cabbage provides 32.2 mg!

If food boils over onto the oven floor, sprinkle salt on top to stop smoke and odour from forming. When the oven is cool, it'll be easy to brush away the spot.
