My Son

My son is 14 years old and the dynamic here between him and his step-father have recently taken a turn for the worst. There isn't a lot I can do as a mother or wife to make it right between them but to stay positive. I try to stay positive by working out, talking things out and just being here for others.

Pick Your Battles

You can not be all things all of the time. PICK YOUR BATTLES!!! If the house gets neglected once in a while learn to appreciate the fact that the house will wait. Your kids won't wait to grow up, your health won't wait for you to decide but the house will always be there waiting. PICK!!

Make it Fun!

If you make exercise not feel like exercise but fun you will be more consistent. I dance. I bike with the kids. Take the dog for a walk. Clean up your basement or garage....walking, bending and lifting without the weights or the gym. Make it a family thing...when my kids want candy we go for what I call a "Candy Walk", so in order for them to have the candy we go for a walk around our block. It might sound silly but I feel like I am teaching the kids a healthy balance.
