Keep a strength training journal

When people want to loose weight they keep a food journal. When strength training you should keep a journal too. Write down all exercises you do, how many reps and sets, and what weight you are using. When you can do 12 to 15 reps increase your weight and add it to your log
After a few months you can look back in the log and see your progress
I find this very motivating especially on days when I do not feel like lifting weights

No time to exercise? The average commercial is 2+ min long on TV. Instead of heading for the fridge, exercise. Do squats, pushups, wall pushups, jumping jacks etc
On the computer. do these exercises or similar every 15 min

burning calories while reading

If you want to burn extra calories, read a book, paper, magazine while on the treadmill. Set the incline at 5% and 2MPH and you will burn 156 calories in 30 min. You would have to walk at a 15min mile to burn the same calories

10000 steps

Whenever the weather is to hot or to cold my wife and I will mall walk. We will walk around the mall before it opens and then we do our shopping when the mall opens. Another thing we do is when we go to the big box stores we walk to one side and then walk up and down the isles
