When you feel cant see how far you have come, or how much weight you have lost, go to the store. Pick up a bag of pet food or kitty litter that weighs as much as you have lost (or multiple bags if need be). Walk up and down that isle once and you will see just how far you have come!
Finding ways to keep busy to keep from snacking. I keep myself busy by reading to my kids, cleaning, finding a movie. While doing any of those I keep myself from going into the kitchen. I find if I keep busy I keep boredom at bay and less apt to snack then.
If possible, eat when you are hungry, don't put it off! Don't wait for the next proscribed "meal time" or think that not eating when you're hungry will help with weight loss! When you DO finally eat, you'll be even HUNGRIER and end up eating more than you would have otherwise.
If you love tacos, burritos or wraps, use a large lettuce leaf instead of processed wraps or taco shells. You get all the good stuff that goes in the wrap, without the added, mostly empty calories on the outside. It is delicious! It's the only way I eat them now!
To get rid of the smell of garlic or onions off your hands -- try squeezing lemon on your hands and then wash.(doesn't work as well). The other way is with toothpaste, yes toothpaste. Apply a half-dollar-size amount to wet palms, rub together, and rise. (This works the best).
So I don't know if this would be a secret but it works for me. I tend to mindlessly eat or drink when I am on the computer or watching TV so I tricked myself to get more water. I use a waterbottle that has one of the bendy kind of straws, think hospital water bottles, and i use it. I find that I don't pay attention to what I am drinking and therefore I end up drinking the whole thing. It really adds the water up and keeps you satisfied until the next meal. It's also kinda fun :)
