Missing those Ramen Noodles?

Looking at the Nutrition Facts on my former favorite noodle snacks left me passing them up, until I found a better alternative. Mama Bean Thread Noodles (50 cents or so at Wal*Mart) have a mere 140 cals/3.5 g fat for the whole package.
My MO - Steam bok choy & mushrooms with the seasoning packets in the microwave, then add the boiled noodles. Spicy and a little garlicy & won't send you over your tracker count...who could ask for more?

Step On It

10 K steps a day...some days.
To help get there when taking clothes from the dryer or hanging them to dry, take one item out and walk to where it goes and put it there...repeat until the machine is empty. Those steps add up and you still get the laundry done!

Home Cure for Dry Nose

My secret home remedy for dry nose is to put a little lip balm on my finger and rub it in my nose. I have a small pot of LIP MEDIX (about a dollar in the drug store) for just this purpose.
It really makes my nose a lot less dry and itchy.

Nuts For These Nuts

Marcona almonds have to be the royalty of almonds. If you have not tried them, please do. They are larger and lighter than regular almonds and are full of protein and good fat!
The Emerald brand with sea salt are especially yummy.

Busy Kitty

Fill the toe of a small sock (ones you've lost the twin to work well), tie it off in a knot just above the filling. Toss it to your cat, and you will have a low-cost interesting toy!

Baby On-The-Go Food Stains

What to do about those food accidents on your clothes in public? Carry some baby wipes with you and gently blot the stain...works great and keeps stains from setting.

Sleep Cooler

A nice way to keep your head cool on those hot nights is to sleep with a towel on top of your pillow. I use a white cotton hand towel and I am so much more comfy!

That's What It's All About

Do you have youngsters around and want to get them up and moving? Try getting everyone up (from the video games, cell phone, computer or TV) and getting them to do and sing the "Hokey Pokey." It's fun and restores energy, too.

A Little Less Monthly Clutter

Instead of saving monthly paper bills in their respective envelopes, choose 1 envelope (large) and put all the bills in that one and recycle the rest of the paper. Label it with the month and the year, and only have one thing to file.
