What it's all about

Anything new is exciting and well....."new". As in everything else, routine sets in, as does a bit of repetition - hence, we may fall off the wagon, get bogged with time shortages and maybe even get a bit bored. What happens? Well....the scale numbers begin to increase, self esteem goes out the window, justification to eat more seems appropriate and wallah..... you have a vicious circle, a yo-yo affect or self defeating attitude. ......it's a choice we must make...nothing more, nothing less

Watch what you are putting in your mouth

I recently had a talk with my sister who brought to my notice that I binge when I eat out but I am mindful when I am eating at home and I realised it was true. So, I got myself a wrist band (those colorful rubbery things) and put it on whenever I go out. This way whenever I bring something to eat near my mouth I see the band and immediately check the portions and the food that I am eating. It is just a reminder that I should watch out for what I am putting in my mouth.

Commit to just 10 minutes

Can't seem to get started with exercise? Tell yourself to just do 10 minutes. If you feel like stopping after that, then stop. Chances are you'll start feeling better and will go longer.. while you have the momentum commit to 10 minutes more. Before you know it, that 30 minutes will be behind u!

Use for Old Newspapers

When cleaning windows, mirrors, etc, use old newspapers rather than paper towels. You get no lint and much cheaper. If you don't normally get the paper, partner up with another person who does!! Another way of recycling.

Exercise while on a cruise

I just got back from a cruise. They said average weight gain is 5-10 pounds. I walked the halls and took stairs when others took the elevators. I also ran the track one day, but the head winds from the fact the ship was moving made running difficult. Walking on shore excursions also helped.

Getting to Gym

When I am feeling like skipping the gym I tell myself to go an only to 15 minutes. I feel like I can easily go and get that amount over with. I always end up staying longer once I am there.

Lose your water weight

When your body can't trust you to keep the water coming, it stores extra in the hips and ankle areas. Once you start drinking water regularly, the extra stores will flush out of the body, with the extra weight of it along.
