Getting more potassium in diet...

1 tablespoon of powdered parsley is very few calories but has about the same amount of potassium as a banana!

I am looking for low calorie foods with potassium so share others with me, please.

Sharing good humor...laughin

produces endorphins...

Having a good laugh or even a chuckle produces endorphins. That is one reason I shared my silly tongue twister with people at work.

For the impatient vegetable gardener...broc
coli
raab...

Once I planted broccoli raab and it literally came up overnight. This week I planted some on Saturday and it sprouted on Monday morning. By Tuesday it was 1 inch high. I can hardly wait for it to be about a foot high (that's when I can harvest some to have steamed or stir fried). The seeds are a little expensive but they are worth it. I also have done some microgreens with radish sprouts and other sprouts (grown indoors without soil and also outdoors with soil).

A BMI chart that is easy to read...

A BMI chart that is easy to understand.
Go to my spark page and click on the BMI chart to enlarge and/or copy. It is a visual chart without the usual lists of numbers. Very easy to interpret. emoticon

Using food you have on hand...

There is a great website called supercook.com where you put in items from your cupboards and the website pulls up recipes for those items. Gets the creative juice flowing and helps you use up those foods in the back of your cupboards or even in your fridge...

Digital scale that "gets stuck" on a certain weight....

I saw a Sparker's comment about her scale being possessed by the devil...I always thought my digital scale was crazy...it would stay the same reading for days when I knew I had lost...

I finally figured out how to get it to stop that...it has to be "reset" and so I picked up an object that weighed 10 lbs and weighed myself and then the weight it was "stuck on" would go away and I then get an accurate reading.

I actually threw away my previous scale cause I thought it was "broken." emoticon

Recipe for homemade yogurt using no special equipment and foolproof!!

The recipe is too long to post here but is posted on my spark page. I moved it up to the top of the page after someone had trouble finding it in the comments section.

It was printed in 1971 in The Last Whole Earth Catalog and even I was able to make very decent homemade yogurt following this simple recipe. I like it cause there are no chemicals, either. emoticon

Believing helps manifest good things...

I tried believing I could get my second knee replacement in spite of being out of FMLA benefits at work....actually it happened in May just as I had believed despite the fact that HR told me I had to wait until next year. I am scheduled May 21.

My healthy and cheap breakfast cereal:

I took 4 Tb of stone ground whole wheat flour and 4 Tb of ground flaxseed, added water (I didn't measure) and stirred well and microwaved 2 minutes and I have a very tasty warm cereal at a very low cost...
