perfect rice every time

instead of cooking rice at a fixed temp the whole time, cook on medium high for 7 min, medium for 10 min, and medium low for 9 min. The weird part is when measuring water, add water until it comes to top of your first knuckle when your finger is resting lightly on top of the rice. (Washing hands first highly recommended if cooking for others). I'm not sure why it works, but I like this trick better than a rice cooker.

Always throwing out bread?

Keep the bag from you last loaf of bread. Split your new loaf in half, use the saved bag and freeze half for later!

Bundt Pan as Vertical Roaster

For a juicy bird thatís crispy all the way around, first layer potatoes, carrots, and onions on the bottom of the pan. Then season the chicken and place in the pan with the cavity over the center hole. Set the dish on a cookie sheet to collect any drippings and roast as usual.

15 Minutes a Day

This may gave already been posted--15 minutes per day keeps the clutter away, one way to beat the clutter is set the timer for 15 minutes and start putting away items in one room, when the timer rings, you're done for today. Do this each day and you will be caught up before you know it. Know this you can do a lot in 15 minutes when you are focused on only one task.

Heat peanutbutter in micro for 30 seconds

I did this before spreading on my bread and it thins it out and helps it last longer (ie one tablespoon goes alot further) I was excited to figure this one out

Mold Ice With a Bundt Pan

Give a punch bowl an elegant (and functional) touch with this floating ice sculpture. Simply fill the cake pan with water (or nonalcoholic punch), freeze, and pop out before serving.

Sugar Free Gum

I find that whenever I am making a lunch for work or cooking or baking...I munch. Mindlessly munching on those little slices of cheese adds up! To avoid snacking as I bake or make lunch I buy those car packs of 50 pieces of sugar free gum and pop in a piece. You won't want a slice of cheese because you have gum and won't want to lose that clean feeling in your mouth :) It helps!

Virtual Model

I use a "virtual model" of myself and insert my current weight and my goal weight & hang the images next to each other! I see how great I can look at my goal weight and it really inspires me ;)
