Rather than turning to food by eating during an emotional time, I empower myself by going to my fridge/pantry and cleaning out all of the unhealthy stuff that has somehow made it's way there. It makes me feel better by cleaning, and I won't have the bad stuff to turn to later!

This is a great idea to fit into any part of your life you are feeling has the "same old, same old" feel. Try a new exercise or activity if you're getting bored. Try a new fruit or veggie, or just a new recipe if your meals are feeling blah. You can even try something new on the motivational side!!
I like to get moving when I clean and organize the house. If sweeping isn't enough movement for you, then use the broom to do a few exercises and dance dance dance with your vacuum! Not to mention, moving around big boxes or tubs for some reorganizing can really act as some good strength exercises...
I doesn't matter what you learn, just keep learning! You can even focus on one area, such as healthy eating, or exercising. If you learn something new everyday about those things you'll be amazed at how fast you'll start changing your lifestyle around!
Be prepared, it's not just for the Boy Scouts anymore!! Make sure you have a stock of basic, favorite, healthy recipes and the ingredients to make them on hand. As long as you always have them, if you are bored or rushed one night it will be just as easy to make one of these as the processed stuff.
There are so many great things to blog about. You can keep your own personal record to keep track of your progress. You can use it to unwind for the day, just taking down all the important aspects of the day. And it can be a great motivator!
Excuses and blame always seem to be my fall back. Once you realize that you are ready to start a healthy lifestyle you have to take complete control and remember that you are responsible for you. If you really want to do it, you'll make it happen. NO EXCUSES!!
