When a recipe calls for several different spices, I find it is best to mix the spices together in a very small bowl before adding to recipe. Allows for consistent coverage of foods. There are certain combinations of spices that I use frequently. I have these premixed in their own spice jars.
Buying snack items in bulk rather than pre-packaged 100 calorie sizes is cheaper and can be healthier. The trick though is to make sure you divide your snacks into snack bags or small containers when you get home from the store. Get out your food scale or measuring cups for the most accurate amounts. You can mix your favorite snacks together. Craisins and almonds or cereal are wonderful and make great snacks. It is important that you divide the bulk items or you might be tempted to snack from the bag!
Planning a family game night is a great way to relieve stress and spend some quality time with your family. One night a week, turn off the TV and the computers and play a game! You don't need to have kids to enjoy game night either!
One thing that helps me to avoid snacking after I'm done eating for the night is to brush my teeth right after eating. The taste of toothpaste takes the flavor/sense of the food out of your mouth. If someone offers me something, I say I've already brushed my teeth.
