Breakfast is KING!

I make sure that 1) I eat within 30 minutes of waking up in the morning and 2) Breakfast is about 30% of my total daily calories!

By doing this I jump start my metabolism, feel fuller longer, and don't crash by lunch time. By making these choices I feel I don't pig-out and binge later on in the day too!

Easy Calorie Burn

Here are some ways to get in some extra calories burned per day without working that hard:

*Squat on the potty, don't sit
*Take the stairs when possible
*When sitting at work/school, squeeze the glutes
*Walk in place during commercials
*Use a basket not a cart at the grocery store
*Walk the pet, don't just let them out the backdoor
*Stand/sit up straight - activate those back muscles!
*Flex the abs when sitting down
*Do 10 extra chews per bite of food

I look at my Future :)

I look into my fiance's eyes everyday and realize just how amazing my future with him will be.
This motivates me everyday into being a better person, and in to taking better care of myself so that we can be healthy together emoticon

Play with Your Pets!

Get up and play with your pets! Its amazing how many obese pets there are in America now! It's kind of a bad sign if your dog growls at you when you say "Go for a walk"...
Even 5 minutes of tugging on a rope or chasing your cat around will make a difference. Staying healthy isn't about a dramatic change all at once, its about continuous modifications that work best for you!

Amazing what numbers can tell you!

MONITOR YOU'RE BLOOD PRESSURE AND RESTING HEART RATE!
It's really amazing how these numbers go down with increased exercise and a sensible diet.
Start walking to the drug store to get a BP reading or just take your pulse randomly when you're sitting down reading or watching TV.
Anything over ~140/90 is not great, 120/80 is normal but shoot for the 110/70's range. Resting heart rate should NOT be over 80. Shoot for 50's to Low 70's.

Grab a friend and just do it!

Working out with a friend is sooo much easier than trying to tackle it alone.
You push each other and most importantly you push yourself.
