Treat It Like A Job

When I asked a young woman who had lost 200 pounds how she did it, she said that she treated weight loss like a job. No matter how she felt, she showed up. She showed up at the grocery store to buy the right food, she showed up to track her food, she showed up to walk, etc.

I grab my fat

When I want to eat something I don't need, usually a Snickers, I grab my belly fat. I reminds me that I already have a Snickers in storage.

Mmm, mmm, water

The tap water in my city is awful, so I buy bottled water in bulk (usually whatever's on sale), and take three bottles in a day. Each bottle is about 16 ounces, so just by being at work, I get 6 of my 8 cups daily. Plus, I don't spend tons of money in the vending machines.

Pre-portion fruits and veggies to take on the run!

I like to cut up, portion/weigh fruits and veggies into baggies and write the weight in grams on the bag so they ready for me to grab quickly as I leave for work in the morning. This makes it quick and easy to eat and track! They are also perfect snack size, and helps me get my 5 a day (minimum) in easily!

Fresh Frozen Fruit

I love my fresh fruit, but I found I was wasting my money when the fruit would go bad before I could finish it. Now to save money if it gets close to browning or going bad I now fresh freeze it. Slice it into small peices and reuse the fresh frozen for smoothies or fruit salad as needed!!!

Getting all your daily water in each day.

To make sure I get all 64oz of water every day, I fill a pitcher with water in the morning and tell everyone that it is my water. That way I know that when it is gone, I have 64oz of water in me for the day. emoticon

my little drive-thru and take out secret

ORDER A KIDS MEAL..today my co-workers ordered lunch from a local deli, i ordered a kids turkey and cheese on wheat with organic baby carrots instead of chips..300ish calories..& im really full..even if you go to mcdonalds & get a kids meal [not the big kids meal, the regular one] & get apple dippers & diet soda, you get your taste for mickey d's with WAY fewer calories..i dont recommend doing this often with fast food but every once in a while wont hurt..its all about good choices & moderation

Watermelon

When I'm hungry I eat watermelon. It's low in calories, high in water content and a good source potassium and a very good source of Vitamin A and C.

Clothes shopping & bras

If you want to buy better quality clothes because they last longer and look better, or you find certain brands are the only ones that fit you well, try looking on Oxfam's second hand store website where you can search for particular brands and sizes, and you can specify brand new items still with tags on, so you can even get decent bras new at reduced cost- the range of sizes varies depending on what's been donated, but I have seen some of the harder to find sizes as well as the standard ones.
