Stretch your laundry detergent!

Laundry detergent usually says "Fill cap to line 1," but it's impossible to see line 1, so we just fill up the cap, right? This uses 4x as much soap as you need! Take a permanent marker and mark line 1 inside the cap (you'll need a bright light to find it). Only fill to that line -- even for extra-large loads. Your clothes will get just as clean, and you'll save tons of money!

Old-Fashioned Oats in the Microwave

Want to eat old-fashioned oatmeal, but don't have time for the stove, and it explodes in the microwave? Just set it in the microwave for 5 minutes on 50% power. Perfectly cooked, high-fiber, low-sugar breakfast! Better than instant oatmeal any day.

Slow Cooker Roast Chicken

Roast a whole chicken in your slow cooker (on Low for 10 hours). Easy, cheap, falling-apart tender, and lots of leftover meat for quick and healthy chicken dishes throughout the week! (Remove the skin after roasting.)
