Start the day a healthy way!

Eat fresh fruits first. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Before any other food is prepared, eat your fruit! Then follow with yogurt and whole grains in cereal, toast, pancakes, waffles,or healthy granolas. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon You can add even more fresh fruits to these breakfast foods too! Berries, apples, and citruses should be eaten everyday. Don't forget fruit smoothies! I think fruit is the gift of the "Gods"!

NO to packaged foods!

Don't buy canned, boxed, or plastic bagged "FAST" foods. Buy fresh, wholesome items and then go home and create what is in those processed packages! Like potato chips or pizza, or granola bars. There are so many healthy ways to make these in the kitchen that taste so much better and have much less salt, sugar and fats in them. Get Creative!!! You can have your CAKE and eat it too!!!

Shake it on!!!

emoticon I always use a flavored Garlic-pepper/low-salt seasoning from a freshly ground spice shaker when steaming, roasting, or boiling all my vegetable dishes. It gives plain and ordinary a little zip of flavor and without any fat or calories. I look forward to all my vegetable dishes even when I don't have fresh herbs in the fridge! Easy with no chopping and slicing. Just great flavor. emoticon

Ask if you can afford it-NOT money, but healthy calories!

When you go down shopping aisles, remember that purchased junk and unhealthy foods, will be sitting at home calling your name when you are trying to stay away from extra calories. Ask the question of affordability? Can this_____be in my cupboard without me having it? If you cannot say no, then you cannot afford to purchase it and it needs to stay at the store. Even if you are getting it for someone else!

Tea Time

I use a goodd, old cup of hot tea before and after all meals and snacks. I drink mostly all herbal teas so not to have all that caffine. Once in a while I drink black with milk. Let your meal settle for 20-30 mins. No sugars or milk. Decaf green is so good. I blend it with my non-green ones. emoticon

Giving Hope

One of my favorite ways to stay motivated is to give motivation to others.
read your friends blogs and statuses and their sparkmails. Follow them on your team pages and friend feeds and give them encouragement. It gives you momentum and requires you to think yourself about your own feelings.

Sparkteams

Finding and JOINING sparkteams that get you SPARKED is one way I stay interested longer and learn much more than I would other ways. Like my interest in organic gardening or NCIS! Its a whole group of us involved in the same thing, bonding together over a common interest using it to stay on track!!
