I have decided to like myself and not give up when I make bad choices. I wear something that makes me feel good and look in the mirror and see how far I have come.
I do toe touchers, wall pushes, chair lifts, stair steps, just plain moving and find a way to track it on Spark; then I can look at the end of the day and as I log what I have done, I see what I have achieved. The next day I want to do more! It's a good motivation tool for me.
Don't give up when you fall off track and be honest, really honest about portion control. I am learning this and learning that the only way to lose weight is to keep on trying and never go back to the old way of eating unhealthy and not exercising.
I have started setting mini goals each day and then set about achieving them. I either post them online or write on a sheet of paper so I can see them and do what I said I was going to do. It is helping to work harder! At the end of the day I post or write down that I achieved them.
To keep myself motivated and to "pat" myself on the back I give myself a sticker such as "good job", "great", etc. I put a sticker on the calendar daily for each day I have stayed on track by eating healthy meals and exercising.
I am working hard at liking myself. I can look in the mirror and look at a positive change I see in me instead of what I think is bad about me. I give myself pats on the back for a job well done!
I try to stay positive by remembering how far I have come; how much better my health is than a year or so ago. Even if the scale doesn't show it, I can breath, I can walk, I have a better attitude and my clothes fit better!
I was thin once and at various times so I have those photos to remind me I was there once, I can get there again! I may not look like I did when I was 20, but those images tell me I can get close!
