I have now made a paper clip chain from brightly colored paper clips. There is one clip for each pound I have lost. I have it hanging in my office. It is a great reminder of how far I have come (30 clips), and encourages me when I start to dream about eating something just because it sounds great!
With Thanksgiving the start of the "Holidays", here is what I am doing. For the celebration meals I get to eat every item that I really love. However, each portion is smaller than I used to take. I take longer to eat, savoring each mouthful, and there are no seconds (unless it is vegetables). But everything gets logged in the food tracker. And exercise is an absolute must.
Thought I might try a "fake" chocolate pudding. Used greek yogurt, splenda and cocoa powder. The consistency looked great, but it did NOT taste anything remotely like pudding. Maybee too much cocoa and not enough splenda. But will not do that again. Didn't taste bad, just not like what I had my taste buds ready for.
My new favorite low sodium breakfast: Cook an egg with baking spray in a pan, breaking the yolk, and sprinkling on Mrs Dash Fiesta Lime seasoning. While that is cooking heat up a corn tortilla on another burner. Flip your egg, and when ready put it in your warmed browned corn tortilla. Easy and great. Holds me for hours with a piece of fruit.
This is a digital pedometer that you can actually carry in your purse or pocket and not have to clip on. Unlike my old pedometer than clicked all the time and people could hear it even if I had it under my shirt, this one is silent. I find it is really good and worth the money.
I bought a piece of ribbon 60 inches long. It hangs by my door, unrolled to the length of the number of total inches I have lost so far. I keep unrolling it as I lose more inches. You could write on it, but it is a great visual of how much you have accomplished. It helps focus on what you have done...not on how far you still have to go.
Seapoint Farms puts out two types of dry roasted edamame that are wonderful. I especially like the wasabi flavored. This helps increase the daily protein with a minimum of fat and sodium. This is a win-win product as far as I am concerned.
