Make a RECYCLED bird feeder!

Take a gallon milk jug (make sure it's clean) cut a large hole in the flat side that's big enough for a bird to perch on. Hang the jug with twine by poking a hole in the cap of the jug and tying a knot (toward the inside) to hold it. Fill the bottom with about an inch of bird food! You can even let the kids help decorate it!

Freeze your eggs!

My friend that has a chicken coupe let me in on a secret... You can freeze eggs! I had no idea that you could do this, and it would definitely save you money if you don't use eggs that frequently!

Sneaky Sneaky...

Rarely do I condone sneakiness but sometimes its just necessary!

If you have a loved one that needs to keep their cholesterol in check but refuses to use "fake eggs" or egg substitute here's a great way to cut back.. When making scrambled eggs use ONE egg white and ONE whole egg! It looks and tastes just like "regular" scrambled eggs but with HALF the cholesterol!

Easy Slicing!

If you have a child that likes "crust-less" sandwiches or if you are just looking for an easier way to slice them, try a PIZZA CUTTER!

I have to make sure my toddler has bite size pieces to avoid choking and I found myself spending a lot of time trying to cut things with a knife.. this is a real time saver PLUS it's a lot "neater"!

BAG the BAG!

I've been known to sit down with a bag of chips and before I know it.. they're GONE!

Now, when I chose to have a snack, I put a smaller amount on a paper plate or in a bowl so that I don't over eat!

Never leave empty handed!

Growing up my mother had a rule that when you leave a room, you never leave empty handed..

Did you take a glass into the living room? Take it to the kitchen! Is your jacket on the couch? Take it to the closet!

This way you don't have to do heavy cleaning all at once and everyone can chip in!

To greatly reduce your sodium intake make sure to RINSE all of your canned vegetables! You'd be surprised how much sodium they are packed in!

Laundry Tip

Whether you use liquid or powdered laundry soap.. I always start the water and let it fill up at least 2 inches before adding the soap. This will keep the bottom of your washer "residue free" and ensure that you're getting the most out of the amount you add. Plus..Pouring detergent on clothing can cause fabrics to fade.

How to tell the difference between OLD and FRESH eggs!

~Fresh eggs are rough and chalky . They will sink and stay horizontal on the bottom of a glass of water. The egg-white is viscous and close around the plump yolk.

~Old eggs are smooth and shiny. They will float in a glass of water. The egg-white is watery and the yolk is flat in an egg roughly 3 weeks old.

PS- They say that older eggs make better hard boiled eggs than fresh one!
