Drink from pretty glasses

Drinking water from an ordinary glass doesn't appeal to me. I bought a dozen 11.5-ounce claret glasses (wine glasses) for $10. I also have some 6-ounce champagne flutes from the dollar store. Very high class! And more fun to drink water/diet drinks from.

Sun Tea for cooling off

This summer, I've been putting 4 family-size tea bags in a two gallon glass jar with a lid and setting it our in the sun for a refreshing beverage. I leave it out for 3 hours and bring it in and put in the refrigerator so it's ready when I'm hot, thirsty and running on empty. A big glass of iced tea is a wonderful thirst-quencher and mood-enhancer.

Off the couch, on the floor..

Determined to stay off the couch in the evening after a long day and exercise, I found if I sit on the floor I end up doing all my Calisthenics, yoga poses and stretching, while hanging with hubby and enjoying our tv show.

20/20

My husband and I made a commitment to at least do the 20/20 workout everyday. 20 sit-ups and 20 pushups no matter what. We would get in bed and one would ask, did you do your 20/20? No would be the reply- usually for both of us so we would roll out of bed do our 20/20 and then get back in bed. This was a great way to start getting back into the workout routine- it literally only took a couple of minutes but adds up when working out. Having somebody to ask helps keep me on track. emoticon

Phone it in!

I've figured out a way to make going to the gym not only required but desired!!! I load my iphone with a great TV series (one with a few seasons that build on the last i.e. the Sopranos) and am only allowed to watch it while on the stairmaster. I tend to end my workout at a very suspenseful moment, insuring I will return the next day to watch the conclusion. I'll also download great songs/podcasts I'm only allowed to listen to while lifting weights.

Brownies vs. Cookies

When asked to bring either cookies or brownies to a party or function, I bake brownies - one can't go 'missing' out of a pan without anyone noticing, the way a cookie out of a pile on a plate can.
