Instead of posting on refrigerator a 'before you gained all those pounds ago' photo, post a photo of yourself now, to encourage you not to open the refrig or cabinet just to munch. Then every month same date, post a 'new photo' next to the heavier one. Seeing the result on refrig will motivate you instead of grieving for your skinny self all those years ago.
As incentive to keep me cycling for full workout time, I made playlists of favorite music I enjoy while I do what ever number of minutes my workout is. If I'm doing 30 minutes, then I chose the playlist that adds up to 30 minutes...when songs are done, I'm done. Average songs are 3 minutes long, so 30 minutes = 10 songs. This is the only time I get to listen to music too, so it's a treat to listen while I peddle away. To keep from boredom, I change up the playlists every day.
