If you keep stuff you don't use because of a sentimental attachment, take pictures of it and put it in an album (online is OK) with a note explaining what it was, why you cherished it, and why it should find a new home. That way, you can keep the memory but recycle the item to a new home.
I love to bake from scratch for my family on vacation. It's cumbersome to take ingredients along so I combine the dry ingredients in zip lock baggies before I go. On the outside of the bag, I write the wet ingredients that need to be added and the temp and time on the bag so I can bake for my family when we are on vacation.
Try adding 2 tablespoons of olive oil and sautee onions for 1 minute, add 1 tablespoon of cumin, mixed together ontop of Brown Rice.
I rip articles, which interest me, out of magazines before I dispose of them. I buy 3 ring clear plastic pages put an article or two in each and pop it into a binder marked as gardening, sewing, patterns, crafts, projects, organizational, recipes, decorating, Christmas, or whatever.
I wrote out my priorities on a small card & assigned a 1 hr time slot to get each one done in. ( I numbered my chores, but started with 10 for 10am). Not that each chore takes an hour, but it helped me to stay focused through the day. Life never happens exactly according to schedule, which is good, too. I like surprises & last night we were blessed with a great surprise visit from friends. I didn't get everything done, but did so much better than without a plan & can do better today! It works!
I bought The Salad Chef at Meijer and it is Wonderful! It has all the pieces and cost less than buying it on TV. A perfect salad in minutes. lift the lever, put in the veggie, push down & Whomp! it falls into the bowl in perfect pieces. Put on the storage lid and you have beautiful salad for days.
The title states how I felt when I started making a recipe & had already gone to the store, just to find out, I was out of something (happen to be garlic salt)! GRRRR! You know you've been in that situation before. There's a website called foodsubs.com which I used to make a GOOD substitute for it. In my situation, it had variations of garlic, then gave me the substitute/recipe of how to make it. If it a shot & see what you think! :) It may even save you some money!
If you take metformin to control your type 2 diabetes, ask your doctor to take a look at your vitamin B-12 levels when you get a chance. A recent British study shows that metformin may cause a deficiency in the vitamin, which is necessary for the regeneration of red blood cells and the maintenance of nervous system health. Check your vitamin D levels and magnesium at the same time!!!
