I explain to my family what my fitness goals for the week are and ask them to help hold me accountable. My family is great about encouraging me as long as they KNOW what the plan is.
I gave myself a 28 day challenge. For 28 days, I will work on achieving a specific goal. This month is cutting out high fat foods. Next month will be something else.
Drink herbal tea when stressed out or upset. Chamomile tea will help calm you and is naturally sweet so just a touch of sweetner is needed. This is a calorie free way to get the hand to mouth comfort so many of us seek.
When you hit a plateau, increase your weights, intensity, or intervals to break through.
Drink a glass of water with every meal and with any medication you must take. It helps get in the water!
Be willing to try anything and everything. You may just suprise yourself at what you can do, what you like to do, or eve what foods you like.
You are bound to overeat one day or miss a workout. Let it go. Tomorrow is a new day with a fresh start.
Find a workout buddy. Whether it is a friend or your dog, having someone counting on you for that morning run or afternoon spin class makes it harder to skip it!
When I feel my workout is extra challenging, I visualize something motivating to help make it easier.
