Some things that REALLY bump up the flavours of simple foods:
*fresh lemon juice
*spices [example: mediterranean rubs, blackened seasonings]
*a little olive oil drizzled on still-hot-just-steamed veggies: the famous explosion of flavour [this is not a myth]

I soak kitchen linens [towels, rags, cloths] overnight in my washer. Regular detergent + Borax + non-chlorine bleach. Gets out grease, coffee/wine/berry stains, general kitchen yuck. If ya wanna be healthy, ya gotta cook. This means kitchen mess. Clean kitchen linens = a more cheerful cook!
I keep a calendar on my wall. My fitness goal: 30 minutes minimum daily. As I have fibromyalgia, daily exercise was recommended by my doctors. Any day in which I do my 30 minutes or more, I give myself a sticker for the calendar. Yeah me! Really helps me see my commitment in action: all year long!
