Did you know yams aren't just for the holiday meals? We have switched to yams. They are so good natural sweet and better for you less in calories then regular potatoes higher in fiber. You can bake them, broil them, boil them put them on the Bar-B-Que. You make sweet potato fries they are so yummy What ever you do with a regular pottage you can do with a yam, and you'll love them more.. Just give them a try You'll like them I know you will.
When your done writing all your checks for 2010. Go through a few pages of yours checks and where the year goes, go ahead and write in 2011. This will remind you it is a new year, and keeps you from making the mistake of writing 2010 in January. Good luck
I set my house as Clock Making my kitchen 12:00 and I start cleaning there giving me 1 hour to complete my task. Moving to next room as 1:00 doing the same then 2 and so forth when I get back to my kitchen I'm done. There for cleaning around the clock
Since we are on fixed income of SS and get paid only once a month. I write out a monthly menu before I go shopping. That way you can easily keep track of your calories and get healthy foods to eat. You can vary as much as like when fixing your meals but at least you have a staring place,
If your not loosing the pounds you want and your doing everything right, don't worry you might be loosing inches. It is always good to take measurements as well as getting on the scale. So don't worry if your not loosing pounds you could be loosing inches. And that is a good thing.
You put a lot of calories on when your cooking by tasting your food so see if it seasoned right. If you brush your teeth and tongue first the food will taste funny and with a nice fresh breath you don't want to put something in your mouth to spoil that freshness.
I plan my daily meals in the morning. I write everything down and log in and once that is done I leave it alone and follow that plan. It is such a pain to go back and change things or remove items. Once it is down it is final. That is what works for me.
I love salads but mostly I love those high calorie dressing we put on our salads. I have learned to eliminate those by using salsa. I get the mild for things like burgers and chicken and hotter for our more spicy meals like enchiladas or tacos. This works for me hope it will help you too.
