Time will pass anyway

It may be daunting to look at the amount of weight we've got to lose and realize that it will be a year or more before it comes off. Thing is, a year will pass anyway, and if I don't take action now, the extra weight will still be there.

I gained some knowledge

I just completed a once a week, six week course about the mind and nutrition. I now never tell myself I can't have something. I can have it if I want it, but I ask myself if having it will help me reach my goals, or not? If I want to have a healthy older life I need to make the right choices now and not procrastinate.

Clean Eating!

Clean eating all the way! Cutting out processed foods and junk that our bodies can do without really helped in my case, as i'm sure it will with anyone else's if you have not already switched to this approach. Whole grains, legumes, veggies, fruits, lean and non-processed protein sources, and healthy fats are definitely the way to go to prevent from feeling hungry, all the while losing weight and breaking past a plateau emoticon emoticon

Snack Calorie Ranges

Snacks are am important part of a Healthy Diet and Exercise Program. They provide you with the energy needed to support you bodies need throughout the day.

It's not only important to find snacks you like but to find a wide arrainge of calorie ranges.

I have 35, 40, 65, 70, 100, 110, 125, and 140 calorie snacks that I eat on a routine basis. This enables me to mix and match snacks based upon my over all caloric needs and it allows for a lot of variety.

Wii Fit Free Step

Instead of being a couch potato while I watch sports on TV (like the British Open today) I use the Wii Fitness Free Step program and get in some exercise at the same time.

Peeling Boiled Eggs

After eggs have boiled to desired doneness, empty the water from the pan & shake the pan so the egg shells crack all over, making sure that the skin is broken on the inside. Then add cold water to pan, & allow to soak for a few minutes. The shells will slide right off without destroying the eggs. emoticon

List of Favorite Healthy Meals

Make a list of all of your favorite dinners and put the approximate calorie total per serving next to each meal. Then have that list handy to refer to when you're deciding what to cook tonight. (Or write the calories per serving on the recipe.)

Become One With Your Pedometer

Wearing a dress without something to clip your pedometer to? Or want to wear your birthday suit around the house and still count your steps? Take an old pair of undergarments. Carefully remove the elastic and toss the fabric (bottom portion).

Quit Waiting for the "Feeling"

I recently went through a funk, and didn't have the spark I'd started with 5 mos. ago. I thought this was a feeling that would return on it's own. THEN, I realized that determination is not a FEELING that comes over me, it's a DECISION! Once I consciously decided to just DO IT, well, here I am!
