First two bites

My dietitian tells me I can eat whatever I want - not to deprive myself. But she also cautions portion control. What I have learned is that the first two bites of something tastes the best. SO I try to stick to two bites. That way I can still get a taste of it but not overindulge.

Travel survival

WHen I am traveling, I make sure I bring a supply of healthy things along - a container of protein powder to add to cereal, oatmeal or as a drink, protein bars (Pure Protein), nuts, and dried fruits to name a few. WHen there are not enough healthy choices available I can turn to these items.

Make it your own

My family other family members do not have a weight issue so like to have "junk" food around. I put all of my healthy food in one cabinet so I do not have to look where their food is and get tempted. This helps me avoid making a bad choice.

Are you getting enough?

Make sure you are eating enough protein. Protein helps your body heal and stay healthy. It also keeps you feeling full longer. If you find yourself hungry all the time, add more protein to your meals and snacks.

Healthy teeth and gums

Brush your teeth first with a dry toothbrush. This helps keep your gums healthy and removes additional things that brushing with toothpaste doesn't. Then brush with a little dab of toothpaste. Healthy teeth and gums are critical to our good health.
