Keep moving

When doing laundry instead of sitting on bed and folding it, I stand and put it on a table to fold, then instead of putting it in a basket and making one trip through the house, I make many trips to each room to put clean laundry away.
Also when I am working on a jigsaw puzzle now, instead of sitting at a table, I put it on top of kitchen counter and stand to work on it to burn more calories.

Price Matching at WalMart

Did you know WalMart prices matches competitor ads? Take 10 minutes and go through the grocery circulars and jot down the item and price of what you'd like. When shopping, put a handheld basket (with your priced matched items in it) in your shopping cart to make checking out a breeze. Example of a good deal: cherries at WalMart were $2.99; I got them priced matched at $.99! :o)

Coffee Addict!

I'm a coffee addict and realized that it was important for me to drink more water. My few cups of joe each day were taking away from my goal of 8 cups of water a day. So, I made a rule that I've been strictly following: for each cup of coffee, I must drink one cup of water.

The Destroy Diet

As soon as you are full, destroy what is left on the plate. Just take ketchup, hot sauce, whatever you've got, and pour it all over it so you don't want to eat it anymore. This keeps you from thinking you are full and then change your mind and eating more in ten minutes. Works especially well when you are out to eat and can't throw it away immediately. =)

note!

be sure to notice when all your hard work is paying off: when you move up a belt-notch or chase the bus without getting winded or don't crave junky foods in the evening. by emphasizing your progress, you'll find new strength to keep going!
