I've asked friends to call my Google Voice Number and leave me an encouraging message for my Half Marathon run. I'll add the messages to my iPod Shuffle so they will play randomly between my running songs during the race.
Got a big weight loss goal? Fine. But don't wait to celebrate. Lose a pound? Get to the gym? Break a time or distance record? Every one of those is worth celebrating. And your Spark Buddies are waiting to hear about them. So blog, post, shout and cheer for yourself. Nothing feels as good as success, so let yourself have them as often as possible!
Resistance is experienced as fear; the degree of fear equates to the strength of Resistance. Therefore, the more fear we feel about a specific enterprise, the more certain we can be that that enterprise is important to us and to the growth of our soul. That's why we feel so much Resistance. If it meant nothing to us, there'd be no Resistance.
When I need a boost, I take some time to read the message boards and offer encouragement and support to others. It's impossible to lift someone up and stay in the dumps. When I post positive thoughts for someone else, I'm reading them, too. It's a win-win.
I eat the 100 Calorie Pack snacks as a treat, but I used to inhale them so quickly I didn't enjoy them. Now, I slow down. I eat one, chew it and actually taste it, then swallow. And repeat. Take the time to enjoy your food, don't just inhale it.
You know the type. Everything is horrible. It's all drama and it's all bad. You want to listen. You want to help. But your suggestions fall on deaf ears. They don't want help. They just want to complain. And drag you down with them. Don't let them do it. Be strong and say enough is enough.
You're only human. Sometimes, you'll miss workouts and eat too much. It happens. When it does, don't waste even more energy beating yourself up over it. Accept it as a break from your program and then get right back to making healthier choices.
Don't worry about eating healthy every day this week. Focus on eating healthier now. Don't stress about a whole week of working out. Be active today. Don't borrow stress and trouble from tomorrow. Focus on today. Tomorrow will come soon enough.
