Give Your Veggie Scraps Back to Nature!

My Grandma use to keep a bucket on her counter. She cooked healthy all day long. When she had waste from fresh veg, fruit or eggshells she would put it in the bucket. Later, she'd take it outside and spread it around a tree or garden where both flora & fauna would enjoy it.

Bonus ~ it cuts down on stinky, yucky, garbage cans & doesn't add to our landfills. :)

Cook in Bulk & Freeze the excess for quick, healthy meals later.

It takes just as long to cook 6 chicken breasts as it does 2. I buy bulk chicken/meat and then I cook it all up. I reserve my portion for cooking that night and put the excess into serving size baggies and freeze. The next time I need it, it's already cooked and dinner's a breeze! I also get my hubby to grill a bunch of meat and do the same trick with it.

Reward Yourself

I love the Spark awards. I rely on the MyTrophies & SparkStreaks to keep me on track and ensure that I do not undervalue my accomplishments. When they give me an award, I give myself a reward. For example, I just got a trophy for losing 25 lbs so I went to Amazon and purchased a $20 watch from my wish list. This watch is a reward & a tool, it has a bezel that will help me to track my exercise minutes. So reward yourself for all of your awards, weight loss, consistency, challenges etc. Itís fun!

Portable Measuring Cup

My hand holds exactly 1/4 cup of almonds. I grabbed a handful of almonds the other day and wanted to know how much to put on my Nutrition tracker. I grabed a measuring cup and, after depositing my little haul inside, found that it was exactly 1/4 cup. A serving. So... I carry this handy measuring device with me everywhere I go. How much does your hand hold?
