Today is the day after another holiday which tends to focus around good, friends and family. Forget about what you did or didn't do over the weekend and just focus on today. If you take this process one day at a time, it's more bearable.
Start your day with a good choice over bad (whatever that means to you). For example-donuts in the breakroom! I opted for yogurt and strawberries. As the day goes on, you'll have more good/bad choices. I now know that today I have willpower because I made a good choice with the yogurt vs donut. When afternoon comes around and I have a choice of an apple or M&Ms - my chances of choosing the apple are pretty good because who wants to negate a good choice made earlier :) right? Stay strong.
A few years ago I joined a gym, and the fitness trainer had me eating less food but more often. So instead of a breakfast lunch and dinner, I was eating a light breakfast, a snack, a light lunch, a snack, a light dinner, and another snack. It kicked my metabolism into high gear and my body was actually using the calories that came in.
Go to a toy store and pick out stuff that you enjoyed as a child that kept you in motion. Hula hoop. Skates. Bike. Badminton. Volleyball. You get the idea. Do the activities that are more like fun and games, but that keep you moving.
