Amazing how we anticipate a "NUMBER" whether we weigh in once a week or once a day-it is amazing how that anticipation can either "make or break" us once we see the "number" I am now finding much more enjoyment and accomplishment by anticipating how things look or feel when I try on my clothes rather than getting consumed by a number. Don't get me wrong I have a goal weight which I will hit-that motivation keeps me pushing to accomplish more-but I refuse to let a number dictate the way I feel :)
Such a simple yet very important aspect of a weight loss journey that I wish I could remember who said this to me....These 7 little words stuck with me...
Amazing how we get frustrated at a weekly loss of -1lb or -.5lb...when u work your tail off all week and get mad, frustrated and even wonder whats the point?! Well the point is that in the end ALL those little moments add up to one HUGE Success in the end!! I've lost 24.5 lbs over the past 5 months inch by inch, mile by mile by mile ran, even on those days I didn't want to run haha!!! But SO worth it in the end!!! I have goals set, and failure is not an option!! Keep on trucking !!! :)
Well compromise really is simple-once you apply it properly!!! I've always tried to consider myself a concious eater, and eat in moderation. Since losing my pregnancy weight and learning how difficult it is to take off (in relation to put on!!) I've learned it is more then just moderation, it is about how to compromise with yourself and what you really "Want" to eat and "Need" to eat....Ate waffles for breakfast, and nixed the carbs at lunch by cutting out the wrap with my chicken..simple :)
I LOVE Salmon and stumbled across this recipe this week-So simple and easy and full of flavour! 4 salmon steaks :mix together 1/2 cup of light mayo, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 1tbsp of dill, dash of pepper to taste, dash of garlic salt to taste, and top with lemon wedge cook at 350 for approx 25 mins and they are SOOO yummy and juicy!! :)
Well I think that I truly must live by this 80/20 rule seems to be working!! Honestly there is no way I could EVER give up on all the things I love in life...so sticking to ensuring I have one snack per day keeps a good balance of eating 80% clean and %20 junk! Like I say not that I NEED to have a cookie but my lord I love my chocolate chip cookies and if I get my butt on the treadmill and work it I deserve a cookie!!
Christmas time...amazingly yummy dinners...desserts...drinks.
Well I think for me the best sign as of recently to really boost my positive feelings about the weight I have lost is the clothes that I have had tucked in the back of the closet!!! Taking them out trying them on and feeling things fit loose is such a GREAT feeling!!! So I try to remember that sometimes that number of the scale doesn't necessarily reflect the inches lost!!!! :)
Well I discovered the best and most successful way for me this weekend at our christmas party was VEGGIES!!! I took a ton of them instead of the usual mashed potatoes with butter and gravy,,,cheese...bun with butter etc...I had a ton of turkey and a ton of veggies and it was delicious!! Still ahd dessert because I knew I made wise choices!!! So tempting but moderation at the buffet line seems to be the key!! :)
Everytime I read someone's success story and see their amazing pictures of transformation I think WOW if they can do it, I can do it!! Especially seeing when people who have #1 a full time day job... come home and start full time job #2 as parents, then start full time job # 3 working out as part of their lifestyle!!I So inspiring and motivating!! Thank you to all of you!!!
