Nutrition tracking while eating out

When eating out and not having nutrition facts available, I d
first try to choose a smart meal choice. Then when my food arrives I automatically divide it exactly in half. I take the remaining half home. Then I measure or weigh the remaining half so that I can best estimate the contents of my meal. It is a good method of portion control and helps me eat out without losing track of my daily intake. emoticon

Cream cheese

Try using fat free cream cheese (available at Walmart) instead of butter and cream. One serving is 30 calories and of course no fat. It's really good on a baked potato instead of butter, and I have also used it to make Alfredo sauce and to make the creaminess for chowder soups.

Unleash the power of Greek Yogurt

Use greek yogurt (which is fat free and high in protein) in place of cream, mayonnaise, and sour cream when you cook. Mix plain greek yogurt with ranch seasoning to enjoy fat free dip, and add a little skim milk to make a ranch dressing. It can be added to soups, sauces, dips, and drinks to add a little creaminess without the fat.
