Motivation & Reward

I reward myself with one dime for every 10 minutes of exercise and keep them in a pretty jar where I can see them as a reminder. Those dimes add up quickly and when I lose 10 pounds I will reward myself by buying something with the money I've saved.

Before hitting the treadmill I first download a Podcasts to my iPod Shuffle from Motion Traxx. It has great music that is just the right tempo for how fast I walk. Keeping my focus on the music, I easily loose track of time.

Decluttering is like taking a diet pill

I made a promise to myself to de-clutter. I first began with my computer cabinet and discovered that I went hours without thinking of food! Everyday I look for something that I can get myself lost in while organizing, because when my hands are busy my head isn't thinking of food!

Stay Focused

Find one place at a time to work on and stay focused on that one job until you get it done. It's easy to get "splintered off" to other places, only creating more work for yourself when organizing things, so don't leave that one job until that one organization job is finished.

Keeping Motivated

I picked a motto for myself -- "If it's to be, it's up to me." I repeat this motto over and over to myself every day! When I'm feeling like I can't keep up that's when the motto comes streaming into my head giving me inspiration not only that I can do it, but that I MUST because it's up to me!

Eat Breakfast

I plan my breakfast the night before and get everything that can be put out ready for the next morning. This way when I get up I won't be tempted to chose an unhealthy breakfast.
