Laughing Cow Light Blue Cheese wedges

Laughing Cow Light Blue Cheese wedges. This cheese tastes just like real blue cheese, only it is lighter in calories (35 calories per wedge). I love blue cheese and this helps me get my fix without going over my calorie allotment.

Spice Check

To check the freshness of the spices in your pantry, go to www.McCormick.com and click on “Spices 101.” Use the codes on the McCormick jar to learn how old your spices are.

Question Everything!

Before I head to the check out, I've learned to ask myself re: everything I'm planning to purchase: "Do I really need this?" If not, put it back! "Do I really need this TODAY?" If I don't need it until next week, don't spend the money until I have to. Asking these questions helps me be more mindful about spending.

Know how to get stuff for free

Getting stuff for free can be really easy if you know where to look. There are lots of "mommy" blogs out there that list free or very low cost deals . I have already started my Christmas stash for next year with 100% free toys for the kids and Amazon gift cards from Swagbucks! I saved over $850 dollars last year just from watching for deals and free offers on stuff I would have purchased in the first place.

the way I eat yogurt

I buy plain no fat yogurt and vanilla low fat yogurt in the large containers. I pour them both into a bowl to blend. This way I get half the sugars. I then put them back into the containers and take 1 cup servings. The vanilla yogurt gives just enough flavor to the plain yogurt.

No Caffeine

On Day 3 of no caffeine. I find myself really really wanting a Pepsi. But I don't have one because I don't want to let my self down. Also I want to show my strength to those around me. I know I can do this!!

Boot Stuffing

Instead of using expensive boot stuffers to keep boots from flopping over, I got one of those long, dense foam pool toys called “noodles” that kids play with in the swimming pool. Cut it in two and voila!, perfect boot stuffers. They're a lot cleaner and easier to handle than rolled up newspaper.

Christmas Baking

I tried some healthy recipes and they really don't taste good enough to give in my gift baskets. I decided to make half of each of my favorite recipes which will give me enough cookies for the baskets but not leave enough left to tempt me for days on end.

Watering poinsettias, houseplants, etc

To water your poinsettias, other flowering plants, or even houseplants: throw a couple ice cubes in the pot every 3-4 days. If it's a big plant, you would need more, I guess. Easy and no water spills!
