Food tracking may be an important kick start in the beginning of your journey, but at some point you are going to have to put the crutch away and learn to stand on what you have learned. The idea is to consciously track so one day you don't have to use it to know where you are at.
Just like you need a Go-To meal you need a few Go-To outfit. Put a few outfits together in your closet that are ready when you need them. They need to be the ones that automatically make you feel good and look good no matter how you are feeling that day.
If you are having trouble with mindless eating then do it with Veggies. Can't help but sit at your computer or in front of the TV without a bowl full of munchies? Fine...keep a bunch of cut up veggies in the fridge and when you get that urge throw a bunch in a bowl and munch away. You will soon make this veggie time a part of your day.
Use real cocoa and unsweetened or original flavor Blue Diamond almond milk. If you want to add a little sweet add a couple drops of stevia or xylitol. You can even get flavored stevias like raspberry, orange, cinnamon, vanilla etc. Guilt free while tasty and actually nutritive.
Looking at the big picture, the future, the "long run" can get overwhelming and sabotage your plans with thoughts of "I can't do that!" Instead, focus on one decision at a time. One good decision at a time. Don't think about having to make the same decision again tomorrow and for the rest of your life. Just make that good decision at that time, at that moment. Before you know it you will be making those good decisions with little effort. God Bless!
For Example...when my son was taking formula I bought some of those little round formula containers that are sectioned off for single servings of formula. Now he no longer takes formula so I have made it my supplement container for powdered supplements like green drink, whey protein powder etc, and it could be used for pills and capsules. It could even be used for screws, nuts, bolts, crafts etc. And I'm sure a million other uses around the house.
I love using purple cabbage in place of bread or chips etc. I use it for sandwiches, as a taco shell and am coming up with new uses every day. It has such great flavor I like to eat it plain too when I feel like munching.
They may contain less calories, but they will DESTROY your health! Is that worth it? Are you more concerned with the idea of being skinny than living a long healthy life. You should be concerned with insulin resistance which will mess with your ability to lose weight and keep it off. Are you willing to sacrifice remembering your life and loved ones? Are you willing to get cancer? Would you like anxiety, depression, headaches, seizures or tremors?
Just don't drink it! Diet or Regular it is just nasty and a bad habit. I challenge soda drinkers to write down the ingredients and then research what they are and what they do to your body. One key point I want to make is Diet is not better for you than regular. Diet soda is just as likely to cause health issues, like diabetes, as regular soda. Educate yourself!
