I have been on Sparkpeople since 2008 and I rarely miss a day coming on here and getting mysparkpoints and looking around. I will lose a little than gain it back, but if I didnt have them in my life I know I would be so much bigger than I am now. Maybe to some of you this isnt a success but it is to me. I never quit trying and this is because of Sparkpeople!

If I journal my intake everyday, it helps me stay on track. You need to honest about everything you eat for the day. I really like the SparkPeople guide, when you are not eating enough protein, carbs, etc. Very helpfull.

If you keep stuff you don't use because of a sentimental attachment, take pictures of it and put it in an album (online is OK) with a note explaining what it was, why you cherished it, and why it should find a new home. That way, you can keep the memory but recycle the item to a new home.

I know they talk about this all the time, but I've been doing this for 4 weeks and didn't start doing it until this week. I got into a little bit of a funk and so I decided to put my goals on my fridge. It was such a simple way to encourage myself and it took me out of the funk. I also printed out a picture of a dress I want to buy when I reach my goal weight. Seeing my goal in front of me reenergized me and put the focus back into my diet. Try it!

I find on the days I don't want to work out at all, if I can just do 8 minutes, it motivates me to do more and I always end up working out for 45 to an hour.

Keep a clear glass jar somewhere you see it all the time and put in it a penny for every 1lb of weight you lose. Seeing number of pennies in the jar growing is excellent motivation, just be sure to take them out if you gain - not wanting to remove any pennies is a great way to keep yourself on track!

Leaving a little something on my plate helps me to get into the habit of not cleaning my plate and saves me a few calories too.

Baby Steps work.....small steps, one at a time!!!! Pick one small goal & work on that till you achieve it & make it a habit!!!! THEN......baby step 2.....pick another small goal & work on that one until you achieve it & make it a habit!! Pretty soon you will be well on your journey to a healthier lifestyle!!!! REMEMBER.....sometimes it is one step back & 2 steps forward.......BABY STEPS!!!!!!!

Eat Before Exercising in the Morning Have something small and light to eat before you do your morning exercises. Not sure of how long prior but 20 minutes works for me. It gives your body something to burn!
