The local Y has exercise or eating challenges about every month or two. I have been doing them to stay motivated. It makes the exercise and being healthy more interesting.
Some challenges have been: eat 5 fruits/vegetables a day for a month, Lazyman Triathalon, go on a walk for a good cause
An armband that you pay a subscription for. It hooks up to the internet every night and you get information about how many calories you burned, how much you walked, ran, etc. You can input swimming or exercise and food that weren't directly put in. It is good for someone to get started, but $$
