CHEESE-AHOLICS!

FINALLY, I have come up with a way to stem my cheese addiction. It is so very basic and easy I wish I had thought of it before.

Measure out your maximum amount of cheese you are allowed for the whole week and keep it in a container in the fridge letting anyone else know to keep their mits off. This makes it sooo much easier not to go over your goals as you will look at the shrinking piece of cheese and realise that you need to eat less if you want some tomorrow too.

One at a time

When I quit smoking, the one thing that got me though it was not quitting, but I won't have this cigarette. I've applied this to candy bars, french fries and other cravings I have. Instead of never having them again, I just won't have them this time!

Write down the calories of food you did not eat

Keep a list of all the foods that you didn't eat and write down the corresponding calories. That way, you can see how many calories you're saving yourself from. It feels great to know how your diet has changed (i.e. no more midnight snacks) and can be motivational :)

For me, I feel proud at the end of the day knowing that I successfully strayed away from certain desserts!

Get Exercise in Early

I know that if I wait until after work, lots of times I just don't feel like exercising. So, I have started getting up early to get my workouts in before heading to work. Not only am I sure to get my exercise, I also find I am more alert and have more energy through out the day. So much so, that sometimes I even do an extra "bonus" workout in the evening.

What worked for me

Start walking. The trick to healthy walking is not doing it today. The real trick is doing it tomorrow and the next day. We aren't talking about a stroll around the mall. Get out there and stride!
