I used to set my weight loss goal for the total amount I wanted to lose and also made my exercise goals unachievable. This time around, I set smaller, achievable goals. My first goal is giving myself 2 months to lose 10 pounds. My 2nd goal is to workout a minimum of 3 times per week and anything above that is great! After those goals are easily achieved, I set the next set of goals. Slow and steady wins the race!
I used to be on NutriSystems until it became too expensive for me. I do still follow their way of eating, however. It helps to have 2 small, healthy snacks per day inbetween lunch and dinner. A piece of fruit and a healthy protein, like low fat string cheese. I am never hungry and can still lose weight. Portion control needs to be part of this also and fill 1/2 your plate with veggies, 1/4 with lean protein and 1/4 healthy carb.
I am fortunate to work at a Women's Circuit Training facility 2 days per week, so I get my workouts for free. I have toned up and shaped up alot since beginning this regimen. I also make time to go back to work out 2 more days per week on my "days off". I have now also incorporated a walking program to increase my cardio activity weekly. This works for me and I make the time to do both.
