Outlook on Eating

I eat what I want, in moderation. It keeps me from "going off my diet".

Complettion-Not Competition

When first starting to run- keep in mind the goal is completion, not competition. It doesn't matter if you have to walk or come in last as long as you complete it :)

Entering Food in the Nutrition Tracker

When entering food in the Nutrition Tracker, use the Food Search option and click on food shared by other members. Whatever the food, whatever the brand, you will almost always find that someone else has already entered this item. Once you find the food you are looking for, enter it into your favorites.

Plan Ahead

Planning is equally as important as we maintain as it was when we were losing. Spend some time making menus for at least the next day so that you know where you're spending your nutrition. This way, you don't get to the end of your day with hunger still looming and no calories left to spend. Planning really is key!

USE the FOOD TRACKER...the BEST tool!!!

I use the food tracker all day, every day. BEFORE something goes in my mouth, I check the nutritional value. WHILE I am eating I continue the education with portion control. AFTER I eat I enter the carefully weighed & measured values of my meal. I thought I was nutritionally educated, but I'm astounded as to the education I've received by using this tool!! I've found a brand new way of eating, plus I'm losing weight & getting healthier in the process!

Get Dressed to Get Moving!

Whenever I don't feel like exercising, I tell myself, "I'll get dressed first then see how I feel." Once I'm dressed, it's as easy as walking out the front door. This keeps me honest in how I really feel about exercising.

90% of the time, I end up exercising anyway. I think it's the extra step of putting on exercise clothes which seems like a larger barrier than it really is.

Have Fun

Make sure you ENJOY your exercise of choice. If you like to dance, then dance. If you enjoy playing volleyball, then play volleyball. Whatever it is that you chose, just have fun with it. After all this is something you'll do for the rest of your life. emoticon
