I have a gift for taking leftovers and stuff that I have in the fridge and pantry and creating delicious and easy meals from it. Most people hate to waste food so why do it? If you use a little imagination, you can come up with some great new ideas to use use up what you have on hand.
Every day pick one thing to declutter, be it a drawer, a counter or your desk. Get a paper shedder and shred old bills or papers you no longer need, toss out anything you have not used in a year and give away any old clothes you no longer wear (like your old fat clothes), In no time at all your house will be less cluttered and look great!
Ever see that character on Saturday Night Live, the one who is always so negative about everything? A positive attitude goes a long way in making your life a success in every aspect you can think of including losing weight. If you always look on the birght side, things will go much smoother. if you are negative everything will be a struggle. it really is all up to you!
Instead of scrubbing the stuck on food off the inside of the microwave, try this. Get a 2 cup Pyrex glass and add about 1 to 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and then fill the cup with water. Place inside microwave and boil on high for 10 minutes, The lemon juice will steam the inside of the microwave and the food will wipe right off with a damp sponge, no scrubbing!
Equal gum makes three flavors, Key Lime Pie, Strawberry Shortcake and Mint chocolate chip and they are great. If you want dessert, pop a piece of one of these flavors in your mouth and the craving will disappear. My fave is the key lime pie, yummy! And it lasts a long time too, by the time the flavor goes away you will be not feeling hungry anymore.
Sometimes we all need a little help with staying motivated. If you feel the need for help, just ask. Enlist your family and friends to be available when you need a boost. Get a workout buddy or a good friend you can count on to call in a pinch. There is no shame in asking for help if you truly need it!
Do not go to the grocery store unprepared, If you do you will buy food on an impluse rather than what you really need. Make a detailed list of exactly what you plan to buy and how much and stick to it. Do not even look at anything else but what is on the list. Avoid the snack aisles completely, stick to the produce, dairy, meats and grain aisles for best results. You will also save money by not impulse shopping.
Today is a good day to throw away all that leftover junk from your holiday parties, including salty snacks, sweets and alcohol. The holidays are over now it is time to get back to business. If it is not there you will not be tempted to eat or drink it. Drink water instead.
If you see a cute summer outift like a swim suit, pair of short or capris you like, by it now and hang it up so you can see it every morning when you get up. Be sure it is a smaller size so it gives you something to shoot for. Use it as motivation to get you to work out and eat right every day, By the time summer comes you will be able to fit into it!
It might sound a bit silly for a grown up to do but get yourself a piggy bank and use it to save your "found change". After a few weeks you will surprised at how much you have saved. Also put in the money you WERE going to spend on that candy bar or carmel frappachino and save it instead. Use that money for Christmas stocking stuffers, or vacation spending money. I am saving for a trip to Vegas in May and I have a seperate saving account just for that!
