This time of year can be very difficult especially if you have lost someone it can bring up memories that can make it difficult to not become sad or depressed. I like to bake or make a dish in memory of that person. I swear everytime I do this it feels that they are right in the kitchen beside me! Then spread the happiness and cheer of this person by sharing it or giving the dish away and telling them about the person who inspired it.
One thing I have strived to do is to park my vehicle in a parking spot farther away from the store. Also grabbing a shopping cart or two from the parking lot to take back into the store or use myself is a not only a nice gesture for the store clerks but it makes me work just a little bit harder. For me personally, every bit of exercise helps!!
This thanksgiving after the bread basket has been passed around the table remove it from the table. By doing this you will accomplish at least three things. 1. It will leave more room on the table. 2. Your guests will not just be filling up on bread. 3. You are less likely to be tempted to over eat in the bread category. Remember out of site is out of mind.
