"Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never -- in nothing, great or small, large or petty -- never give in, except to convictions of honour and good sense."
Winston Churchill 1941
No matter what's going on, whether you're on plan, or way off track, keep logging in to Spark no matter what. If you're off track, it will keep you mindful and eventually your connection will pull you back in, and get you taking care of you again. Never give up!
Whenever I roast a chicken, I add a head of cauliflower to the pot and roast them together. It's a great substitute for potatoes, and oh so delicious when roasted.
It kills the appetite.
It's contagious. And it bounces back and makes you even happier than you were before all that shouting. (This is also known as Spreading the Spark.)
When I'm lacking motivation, I ask for support in a status, a blog, or a message board post. Yesterday I requested a kick in the pants to get outside and moving, and my Spark Friends were right there, urging me out the door. On Spark People, if you ask, you shall receive.
Having humorous Spark friends is key. A belly laugh goes a long way to busting a funk, keeping the journey fun, and helping to lighten up, both mentally and physically. A big thank you to mine. You know who you are.
I park on the top floor of my parking garage every day (even if there's a space on a lower level) and take the stairs up and down, all 96 of them. My legs and my lungs are noticing the difference!
To make it easier to sneak exercise in throughout the day, I've ditched the heels. It's so much easier to climb up and down the 96 steps in my parking garage, or go for a walk at lunchtime, with comfortable shoes! And my feet thank me big time!
