Poor Girl's Weight Bench

So, because I cannot afford or have the space for a weight bench, I place two sturdy apple crates overturned on the floor and put a folded blanket on top for padding.

I see the future when I work out

When I'm in the middle of my work out and I'm getting tired or Lazy I change the information in my mind by focusing on what I'll be doing in the future. I see me as a happy active person not a fat lazy adult. It helps me complete my exercise with a smile. emoticon

Paying cash as much as you can

I took Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University class and one big change I finally made is to pay cash as much as I can. Really, it hurts when you pay cash mentally. So I really avoid spending cash and if I must, I often ask myself - do I really need this? I end up spending less and I think I've saved myself $200 so far in 10 days for not wanting to part way with my hard earned money.

Peanut Butter "Ice Cream"

Hopefully I am not reposting this (my apologies if someone has already come up with this)
When I want ice cream, lately I take one TBSP of Peanut butter and 2 TBSP of Fat Free cool whip and mix it all up, put in the freezer for a bit and when it comes out it tastes pretty close to a PB shake!! But with way less guilt...it's a small amount rich enough to satisfy those cravings.

To help stop me from going to the kitchen

I put a baby gate in the doorway. This way I have to unlatch it, and that's just more effort and makes me give it a second thought before going in.

Used Books Save $$$

Amazon, Half Price Books, and even thrift stores are the source of a large percentage of books I own. I'm horrible about returning rented books and most of the bestsellers I've found sold from $1.99 a huge savings from the originally priced @ $25.

Look up, not left

Against all advice, I weigh myself EVERY DAY. And I write my weight on a wall calendar. It keeps me honest and the weight coming off. But I am aware of the day-to-day fluctuations in weight that have nothing to do with fat lost or fitness gained. So when I compare weights, I look up a row to see where I was last week, rather than left to see where I was yesterday. It keeps me honest ... and motivated!

WHEN YOU FEEL FRUSTRATED OR LIKE GIVING UP

It took me 3 /4 years to finally loose weight. I found two people who lost a lot of weight and started reading their blog as well as made them a Spark friend. It helped me change my thinking and my attitude!

Make time to Spark it up

Spark it up first thing in the morning. Making a habit of this will help you stay conscious of your decisions for the rest of the day.

Terrific Food Tracking Tip!

I don't taste until I track! I put this rule in place for myself because skipping once is a slippery slope. And by making sure my food is logged before I indulge, I can see how much my choice will "cost" me and make a last minute change if necessary!
