Its NOT a diet...

Viewing my weight loss as a lifestyle change has allowed me to not only lose weight, but also maintain the weight loss. Do I eat sweets and chocolate? Do I go out for drinks with friends? Yes. Its ok to indulge, as long as it is in moderation. I find that if I cut everything out that would be high calorie, etc..., I crave it even more, which makes me a not-so-happy person. Keep moving, and find the joy in eating healthy, chocolate included.

Mocktails

Just tried 3 of Crystal Lights new "mocktails" - Mojito was great (taste like the real thing minus the alcohol) I also liked the Peach Bellini. Margarita was a little sour but ok. emoticon

Never Give Up!

When an injury gets in the way of your fitness program don't let frustration cause you to throw in the towel! Just because you can't do the exercises you have always done doesn't mean you can't work out. Use this as an opportunity to try something new and mix things up!
Due to a back injury, I can not run, kick box, or use heavy weights for ST (everything I love to do!) Instead of doing nothing, I have explored low impact dance aerobics and yoga. I am still losing weight and toning.

Ice Cream

I am an ice cram a hillier. No matter what flavor it is I love it. With the exception of black liquorice. That could be how I put on so much weight. Ice cream and a lot of medications. The I discovered Skinny Cow. Skinny Cow is the Dieters dream. It comes in many flavors and my favorite is chocolate truffle. emoticon

I'm a snacker, are you?

I'm an admitted snacker. Before I started pre-planning my meals, I would snack on anything I thought was 'healthy'. I began constantly craving them, so when I started planning my meals, I added in 3 pre-planned snacks at 100cal a piece. Try Pita Bites with blueberries or a sliced apple with a tbsp of peanut butter. It fills you up, has a lot of fiber, potassium, protein, and vitamin C. Pre-planning snacks felt less restrictive, and I don't regret it at the end of the day. :^)

Mmm...tea

I've recently become addicted to Dr. Teas craving teas, which come in flavors like Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream and Blueberry Pie. They are a great replacement for high-calorie, high-sugar desserts!

Quit Waiting for the "Feeling"

I recently went through a funk, and didn't have the spark I'd started with 5 mos. ago. I thought this was a feeling that would return on it's own. THEN, I realized that determination is not a FEELING that comes over me, it's a DECISION! Once I consciously decided to just DO IT, well, here I am!

Start Over Every Day

If yesterday was a bad day, or I didn't finish entering my food or didn't do the exercise I wanted, I don't start today at a deficit - instead, I start fresh and do what I need to do to for TODAY.

It requires a combination of things

You didn't become unhealthy by just one thing.....that's why staying healthy requires a combination of things. You need to eat right.....exercise......get enough sleep....take your vitamins.....laugh often......and learn to forgive yourself. THIS....is a winning combination.

The 2% Secret

A lot of motivational speakers will try to charge up their audience to give "110%" every day, with an image that through motivation you will levitate by your own energy above the crowd. The problem is that when you try to leap above every day, it isn't very long before you are pooped.

I think people who are consistently successful just do a little more each day, just 2% more, but they do it every day for a long time. Eventually it compounds into big results.
