Big Weight Loss Goals

It's easy to get discouraged if you look at how far you have to go. If you have 50 lbs to lose, look at it as you have 1 lbs to lose 50 times. If you look at the big picture, it is so immense that it is easy to put off. Focusing on losing that 1 lb puts your effort in the here and now, not someday. Anyone can lose a pound. Once you lose that one, move on to the next.

Water

Drink a large glass of water as soon as you wake up--before coffee and before breakfast. It will help keep you from overeating breakfast. It will help rehydrate you after not drinking for several hours. It is also linked to weight loss--it is a little helper that will help you reach your goals.

Giving In is Not Giving up

Sometimes i give in. Despite what i want, and knowing how far i still have to go. i eat that cupcake, i buy the candy bar, drink the wine.... but i dont dwell. Dwelling on that one mistake just continues to rip the wound. Instead I praise myself for acknowledging that it wasn't the best thing to do. And i praise myself for making the right decision the next time. Giving in, is never Giving up.

Track First

I like to track my day's food first thing in the morning or as soon as I know what I'm eating for meals. That way I know how much is left for a snack in the evening. I love to budget my calories and fat for a snack during my downtime in the evening. It makes it feel like a splurge even though it fits perfectly into my day's plan!

Mini (under desk) Bike

I like to use my mini bike under my desk for when I get the munchies. You know those sparks of nibblies for chocolate or chips in between meals and scheduled snacks. I pedal the mini bike and the cravings seem to go away.

Don't quit, period. No matter how many goals you don't achieve or how many set backs you face, don't quit. Don't sell yourself short by quitting. You are well worth every ounce of effort, sweat and tears that you may have to put into this journey. You are worth it! So don't quit.
