"Assume Strength"

Time magazine had an article on Tiger Moms, the traditional Chinese culture of mothers who demand a lot from their children, and the children who acheive it. One phrase stuck with me from the article and is my new mantra -- "Assume Strength".

Concentrate on a Non Scale Victory

Last time I was successful in losing the weight, I had two NSV's I hope to know again. My DH told me, "You're disappearing!" NOTHING could have been more romantic.
And the clerk at the video store complained that I did not look like my id pic. Of course that made me feel successful, too. I want those comments again! Such comments are a definite goal for me. When I feel like not bothering, I'm just going to concentrate on getting my dh to feel like saying that again. emoticon

Start with a Blog!

Starting the day with a blog entry can help us focus on why we are staying on plan, and help us to do so, avoiding mindless eating and sitting. emoticon

Put it in Writing First !

Eating meals that are on your program is a multi-step task. Plan your grocery list IN WRITING. This critical step can strengthen our commitment, helping us avoid two motivational weak moments -- in the store and in the kitchen. Reward yourself (non-food) for this and keep on track.
