Celebrate a victory everyday

It is important to celebrate a victory every dayt, it can be as small as getting out of bed, or as great as wimming the lottery. They help see the positive on days that seem dreary and long,.

protein after workout

It is good to eat up to 10 g. of protein within 30 min. If working out. My favorite way to do that is to eat low calorie string cheese. It has 9g of protein and is not only low in calories, it is portable in your workout bag and helps cool you down. I also use it to get in sufficient calcium during the day and no carbs involved. emoticon

Leave your credit cards at home

I recently stopped using any credit card. I started taking only enough cash to buy what I am going out for and if I see something I think is a buy, I use that money only, and forgo something else on my list. I have found that I don't spend as much or have "buer's regret" nearly as much.

today is all that is important

Concentrate on only today, leave what happened yesterday behind and remember tomorrow isn't a promise.
Track your food, it gives you an idea what is working or not working when you are trying hard. Walk 2 min. more each day for a week, after a week you have added 15 min.

I started by walking to the end of my block and back.. Later it was around the block. Soon it was a couple blocks, and now I am doing 5 miles a day twice a week and swimming 5 days a week. It only takes the first step to be a succcess

larger breakfast

I find that eating my largest meal at breakfast helps me stay active all day, it gives me the nutrients that fuel my activity and keep me moving. I always have most of my fiber and my dairy early, I have my fruit and veggies for dinner and find it easier to sleep soundly with less on my stomach

move it to lose it, even if it is only a few more steps

We all can increase our steps each day. It doesn't matter if it is one step more or 200 steps more. The more active we are the more our body loves us and will release the fat and pounds that it is holding on to to survive. calorie cycling

When I was on my recent plateau, was also on medication. I had to eat at the high end of my range one week and the low end the following week. This helped break a very difficult plateau after gaining 20 pounds from meds. Though I am not back to my starting weight, I have lost 8 pounds this week.
